Fees, Q&A, Newsletter/Email Updates
1. How does someone join L.A. Entertainment?
Referrals. Direct Invite.
Please ensure that you fill in the online performer application (Note: you must be legal age to do so).
2. What do you do now that you have filled out the online performer application?
Thank you for submitting your performer application. All potential candidates for Principal work must send an email directly to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject PRINCIPAL in the header, and for Background, put BACKGROUND in the header once you have filled in the initial online application. Also ensure that you have included an electronic copy of your head shot, and resume as well as any audio/video clip for submission to the agency.
All Principal Talent need to have a personal interview with Liisa Allen, in order to be considered. Exclusivity is a MUST once you are offered representation for Principal work. A yearly contract will be offered once you have made the cut in the selection process for a spot on the roster.
3. Very Important
Generally, we ONLY ACCEPT people who have been referred directly to me from a performer/industry insider... that I recognize as having been professional while working for/with us or associates in the past. (There are a few exceptions to this rule).
We welcome performers who have a flexible schedule, ideally have graduated from a film/television/performing arts program and who reside preferably in/around the GTA. Please understand that auditions happen Mon-Friday normally and that you need an absolutely flexible schedule.
If someone does BG, and transitions into Principal work, and we have agreed to take you on-you MUST communicate your non-avail dates, and the shows in which you may have been featured on to me immediately, and keep me up-to-date with those at all times. Also, our contract DOES NOT allow for any submissions by anyone other than us for commercial BG ever... to minimize conflict and booking issues.
For BG performers: It is vitally important that you communicate with us ongoing and understand that having too many agents makes things complicated in this area. Anyone who does not appreciate that this is a serious business should not even approach us. We do utilize BG4hire.com and suggest you register there and add us as your representative for BG work. This site is not affiliated to us in any way, however we do use it as an additional tool to market you to casting and create job orders.
Union talent must list L.A. Entertainment as one of their BG agents or the primary one if this is the case on all pertinent sites that are a go-to for Casting. As well- for all talent, it is an expectation that you maintain your profiles and keep them up-to-date with current pictures. For the background Casting database at ACTRA please ensure you list us as your agent there as well as BG4hire.com if applicable. Links for these can be found on my links page.
Your conduct while working on-set for L.A. Entertainment should always be nothing less than professional. Therefore, it is paramount you are ALWAYS on-time and ready to work with the appropriate attire and paperwork required.
**TALENT MAY NOT disclose booking, set or other relevant details regarding work, to any one, for any reason. NO Tweeting NO postings of any kind including pictures that relate directly to the set, location or scene/project you are working on please.
NOTE: ALL talent must provide a copy of the Ontario Health and Safety Certificate prior to working. As well, must keep a copy on their person to turn into each new production worked on for their records. You must keep a hard copy on your person to provide on set if asked and email us a copy as well. Please click on the link below in order to complete this now.
Ontario Worker Health & Safety Training Certificate
